Italian player Roberta Vinci will fight against United States Player Melanie Oudin in the BNP Paribas Open 2010 match on Thursday.
She has won four WTA tour titles, two in singles and three in doubles.

Vinci won her first WTA title, against the top seed Tathiana Garbin, also of Italy, in 3 sets after falling behind 0–3 in the final set. She won the title after Garbin had to retire. She won her second title at the 2009 Barcelona Ladies Open, over Maria Kirilenko.

United States Player Melanie Oudin was former World No.2 in Juniors. Her career high rank was World No. 41, which she achieved on February 22, 2010. She reached this career high ranking after she reached her first Grand Slam Quarterfinals at the 2009 US Open.

At the 2010 Australian Open, Oudin was defeated 6-2, 5-7, 5-7 by Alla Kudryavtseva in the first round.

After rallying from a set and 1-3 down, Oudin defeated Agnes Szavay to reach her first semifinal of a WTA tour event at the 2010 Open GDF Suez in Paris. She then fell in three sets to World No. 7 Elena Dementieva, in a rematch of the US Open, in the semifinals. In the Cellular South Cup in Memphis, Oudin was the 2nd seed. She lost in the quarterfinals to Sofia Arvidsson.
