Former Australian No.1, John Newcombe doubts Novak Djokovic amazing in the run in new season stating that, it would be very tough to repeat the amazing run, which he had this season by winning 3-grand slam titles.

Newcombe has said that, it will be difficult task for the Serbian No.1, Djokovic to continue the same form of winning ten titles in 2011; due to the fact that, he is struggling from injuries and fatigue fade from September onwards.

Seven times grand slam champion, Newcombe has said about Djokovic that, He’s just won so many matches, and it’s been pretty obvious, even at the US Open, he was struggling, the local icon told Australian media. “Since the US Open, there’s been injuries; a sore shoulder, a sore back.

When you watch him playing, he’s running on three cylinders. I’d say that his body has temporarily given in. It’s not a lot of time to suddenly suck it up and start the year again and defend everything that he won last year.

I think it will be a superhuman effort for him to repeat the six months that he had. It was an amazing run, and that is very hard to defend.

World No.1, Novak Djokovic will kick-start his new season this week against French world No.14, Gael Monfils on Thursday, December, 2011 in the Mubadala World Tennis Championship.

Wait and see, what could be the Djokovic’s form in 2012.

Who’s going to lift the Crown of Grand Slam tennis tournament in Rod Laver Arena and Hisense Arena at Melbourne Park? Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal or Defending Champion Novak Djokovic?

Djokovic has finished an incredible year by grabbing the ATP Number One Rankings in Men’s and followed by ten tournaments out of which are three Grand Slams in 2011 Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open. On the other end Federer’s year-end win in London sees him eyeing off a fifth Australian Open title. And Rafael had a struggling season in 2011; though he reached twice in the Grand Slam finals in 2011 he lost both of them to current champion Novak.

On the other brink Australia’s own US Open champion Sam Stosur is confident along with other top stars in Women’s Singles like Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, and French Open winner Li Na will be joined by defending champion Kim Clijsters and five-time AO winner Serena Williams, both returning from injury.

Meanwhile the World Number.1 Caroline Wozniacki is still in streak for her first Grand Slam and the Russian champion Maria Sharapova is showing all the signs of returning to winning form.

The men’s draw will be completed with 16 qualifiers and eight wildcards, while the women’s field has 12 qualifiers and eight wildcards.

It wasn’t about her US Open triumph but beating the former World No.1 Russian Top Player Sharapova, this has given her more confidence stepping into New Year and with hopes of winning the Australian Open Grand Slam Finals. She received high influence through the 6-1 7-5 win in the round-robin opener in Istanbul in October, because it was the first time Stosur had beaten the Russian in 10 meetings.

Stosur stated after the match that’s going to be a big confidence boost up for me the next time I go out on court against her, a 9-0 record isn’t good but now I’ve won one and I guess it proves I can beat her, so, hopefully, I can do it again. She also added If I don’t hit it well enough, then it’s right in her hitting zone where she can just go ‘whack’ and get on top of the point.

She might be facing Sharapova in one of the 2012′s opening events in Brisbane.

Caroline Wozniacki.

The 22-year old golfer says that his girlfriend Wozniacki is a motivation to him and continues saying comparatively tennis career is a lot more shorter than a golf one, but they have to put everything into it for the eight or 10 years they’re playing, she definitely works harder than I do and most of the girls on the tennis tour and If anything it’s been a great power on me to see how hard she works and how she dedicates herself to her game.

2011 U.S. Open Champion also added it’s also nice to be with someone who has the same aim and force and I don’t want to sound soppy here, but the best thing that’s happened to me off the course this year is meeting Caroline.

Rory has been dating Caroline since few months and he confirmed it in August that he and the World No. 1 Wozniacki have been seeing each other.

Wozniacki was certain to finish the year as world no. 1 for the second consecutive year, but she is still in a drift to lift a Grand Slam.

British youngster Liam Broady aims to take a leaf out of 10-time grand slam champion Rafael Nadal’s book, to make his move in the ATP Rankings.

Broady has won the boys’ doubles title at Wimbledon in 2010, also reached the singles final this year. Liam Broady has established himself as one of the world’s top junior players. Recently, Broady won the Orange Bowl Under-18 doubles title with Josh Ward-Hibbert in Florida last week.

Liam Boady, seems playing lie Rafael, they used to play left-handed. He even shared a practice court with the world No. 2, just before the Spaniard played his semi final game against Andy Murray at US Open in September. However, Broady feels that Roger Federer has more natural talent than Nadal. But, Nadal attitude towards the game is what he needs to emulate.

The British player said that, while they were practicing Rafa might say hello before practice but once we started, it was total concentration. But when you look at Federer practicing, it is an incredible feel for the game that he just needs a short warm-up. But Fedex suddenly throw in a drop shot or hit a couple of backhand blinders past you just to keep that part of his game sharp. Broady insisted that, he just need to be practice like Rafa, for four hours a day on the court with at most concentration.

Broady believes developing his mental strength will be key, if he is to build on his current world ranking of No. 663.
