Roger Federer won the game with 6-3, 6-4 and 6-3. Federer finished the match in just 1 hour, 41 minutes. Federer was feeling very happy on entering into the third round of US Open. Federer said “It’s the perfect start” after his won on Andreas Beck.

He said the two days rest in between first round match and second round match helped him to win the match. “I played Monday, had two days off. I had another easy one physically today, and here I am in the third round feeling like I’m completely in the tournament”, Federer said.

But, it may be a little tough job for Maria Sharapova to defeat Iveta Benesova, who is in a career good form. 67th ranked, Iveta Benesova defeated Nuria Llagostera Vives in just two sets in the first round. Iveta Benesova won her first round without any tough fight from Nuria Llagostera Vives.

14th seed Maria Sharapova defeated Jarmila Groth in the third set to enter in the second round in US Open. Maria Sharapova lost her first set with 4-6 but, in the second and third set, she didn’t give any chance to Jarmila Groth to win the match.
