The world No. 1 seeded Rafael Nadal wants to equal the Roger Federer’s Grand Slam’s haul, which is the record of 16 Wimbledon titles.

Nadal said that, reaching his rival Federer’s record of 16 Grand Slams remained as a dream in his career. Nadal has won his 10th Grand Slam title few days back at Roland Garros, where he on the three Grand Slams Australian Open, US Open and French Open in 2010. He is focusing to win the 11th major at Wimbledon.

After the victory at the All England Club would see Nadal along with Bjorn Borg and Rod Laver in all time standings, ahead of Roy Emerson with 12 titles, Pete Sampras with 14 crowns and Roger Federer with 16 majors. He is very far from the Federer’s record, but his dream to achieve that mark in his career says Nadal.

Nadal is going to play against Michael Russell of United States in the opening round of the Wimbledon 2011 at centre court here in London on Monday. Nadal said he is happy with his performance in the last year, where he won three Grand Slam titles in a row, definitely wants to repeat in 2011. The 25-year-old Nadal will remain as World No. 1 in the ATP Rankings, if he won the Wimbledon event.

Roger Federer has been named as all-time best men’s singles player in the modern tennis era, but Rafael Nadal is closing fast and moving ahead rapidly to get the records set by Roger Federer after beating him in order to achieve his sixth French open title.

After winning against Federer 7-5, 7-6 (3), 5-7, 6-1, Nadal has equaled the record set by Bjorn Borg, after this feat there maybe questions rising whether Federer truly deserves to be called the Greatest of All Time.

Nadal has won his 10th Grandslam which is just 6 away from Federer who holds 16 Grand Slam trophies, Nadal who turned 25 on Friday has got a long way still ahead in his tennis career, Federer and Nadal had met French open in 2005 semifinals, and the 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2011 finals and every time they had played on the clay court it was Nadal who had more off control.

Nadal stands at 45-1 for his career in Paris, and Nadal leads their head-to-head series 17-8. In This total Nadal has an of 6-2 advantage in Grand Slam finals and a 5-0 edge at the French Open.

As the French open is over, Nadal may be planning to visit popular casinos to play his favorite roulette and video poker where he enjoy his leisure time usually.

Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal growing their rivalry have met 25 times including the recent match at Miami.

The final of Miami was magnificent fight between two giant players, battled for three hours and twenty one minutes. Djokovic recovered to record a 24th consecutive victory this season and his fourth title was won with forehand winner sparkle.

Nadal led 5-1 in first sets in three sets game, no one thought that game will prolong so long. It is difficult to recover from losing five straight to number one in the world in a best-of-three games. Beat the world number one twice in the next tournament, starting down on both occasions was a rare achievement.

Novak Djokovic is showing a pure sign of his domination of this year. He has won only one grand slam in 2010 and in 2011 he won two out of five tournaments. In the final Djokovic had won all 40 games of his service, saving 13 break points. He led the tournament statistics for games played back (53%); break points converted (65%) and points won returning first served basis (47%).

Rafael Nadal has reached 95% of first serves in the first set against Roger Federer in the semifinals. In late 2010, a year of three major titles for Nadal, the talk was whether Roger Federer was about to respond to the new season.

But it is Novak Djokovic; Roger Federer dismissed that, now it is time to wait for a tap Rafael Nadal.

Roger Federer, the world no.2 player is ready to bounce back and show his class performance for the up-coming hard-court tournaments Indian Wells and Miami. The Swiss maestro is determined to rebound to top form during the upcoming USA hard-court campaign.

Federer, the top seeded players, who won his first title at Doha earlier in January, was defeated twice against, the inform player, Novak Djokovic, the world no.3. The first time he was defeated this season was against Djokovic, in the semi-finals of the Australian Open and last week, he lost the Dubai open against the Serbian.

The 29-years old federer has won three titles continuously in the years 2004, 2005 and 2006 at Indian wells and since then he hasn’t won a single title at Indian wells and in Miami, he has won continuously two titles in the years 2005 and 2006 .

Even though, Federer has lost his fourth tile in Dubai Open last week in straight sets against the world no.3 player, Djokovic, Federer was happy enough with his overall showing there and feels in good shape going into the next stage of the campaign.

Federer has said that, it just didn’t really happened in the end, but it’s better than the last few years in Dubai and has not played much match at Indian Wells and Miami. So this is big going into Indian Wells and Miami with a bit more tennis and confidence really.

He didn’t get much rest, after having played five days in a row and prepared to the west coast and get ready over there. He feels like, he needs more practice as there would be different conditions again. It’s going to be flying but it’s going to be slower.

Rafael Nadal, the Spanish world no.1, finally clinched the Laureus World Sports Awards last night, on Monday, 7th February, 2011, in Abu Dhabi. The tennis celebrity won his first Laureus Sportsman of the Year award during a glittering ceremony at the Emirates Palace hotel.

Nadal, who won his first Laureus Sportsman of the Year’ trophy, has already proved that, he is one of the all-time greats in the world sports, and has done enough to electrify the Laureus judges, who voted him against the likes of Manny Pacquiao (Filipino boxer), Kobe Bryant (American basketball star LA Lakers’), Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta (Barcelona-soccer teammates) for the prestigious award.

The Spaniard, after receiving the Laureus Sportsman of the Year’ trophy said that, “it is the most important award in world sport”, and “My real goal is to continue to be competitive in every game. I did not have the perfect start this season, but it has not been terrible.

Nadal, had a fabulous season, in the year 2010, as he regained the world No.1 ranking on 7 June 2010, and has won the US Open, French open and Wimbledon titles. However, the Spaniard, who was aiming to become the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to hold all four Grand Slam titles in a stretch, was defeated by fellow ATP team-mate, David Ferrer, in the Australian Open, due to Thigh Muscle Tear. And, he is out of action for a short period.

Roger Federer, Tennis rival of Nadal, won Sportsman of the Year for four times in succession between 2005 and 2008. Nadal said that, he was delighted with his latest achievement.

It was the domination of Spanish country at the Laureus awards, as Rafael Nadal was nominated as a Laureus Sportsman of the Year and the Spanish-soccer team winning the World Team of the Year for their victory in World Cup.
