Australia Davis Cup coach, Pat Rafter has selected the former grand slam champion, Hewitt for the second singles rubber against China. Even tough, fellow player, Matthew Ebden is seeded top then the former No.1 at the ATP world rankings has picked him Hewitt for the singles rubber.

Rafter still believes that the former world No.1 and two-times major champion, Hewitt is still in great form to lead his country in the Davis cup contest and stats that, injuries shocked Hewitt’s ranking and not his form. Meanwhile, Australian Raising star, Bernard Tomic will be leading the Australian Davis Cup tie against China.

Currently ranked 130th in the ATP rankings, Hewitt skipped much of 2011 due to injuries. However, he shelved a title at the Kooyong Classic and made final eight berths at the SAP Open, Regions Morgan Keegan Championships and the Gerry Weber Open last season.

Pat Rafter while speaking with the sources has said that, Lleyton will be playing single and added that, Hewitt ranking is no reflection of how he’s hitting the ball. To me he is back in the top 20 in terms of how he is hitting the ball.

Hewitt made a superb comeback in the season opening grand slam tournament at Australian Open. However, the former No.1, has been defeated in the quarterfinals against the eventually champion, Novak Djokovic.

This week, it’ was all about the glimpse memories of the 2012 Australian Open, which we will cherish for long time.

Some of most memorable movements of the season opening grand slam tournament, which was held in Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne are:

Match of the 2012 Australian Open

We have to salute the top seeded players in the tournament, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal for their unforgettable Australian Open finals kickoff, which has lasted 5 hrs 53 minutes to complete the match with a score line of 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7, 7-5 at Rod Laver Arena and it is also know as the longest Grand Slam final ever in the history of tennis.

The match was a pulsating, energy sapping one with Djokovic finally clinching the victory as king of clay, Nadal has became the first man to lose three consecutive grand slam finals and regrettably to the same Serbian.

The most amazing part of the finals match between Djokovic and Nadal was they could not able to stand on their feet after running 12-km on the court battling against each other in an Epic finals. While the tournament officials were giving a talking one after the other, the Australian Open finalist were struggling to stand on the court and later were given chairs to sit.

Raising Stars at 2012 Australian Open

Bernard Tomic and Japan’s Kei Nishikori is the most improved player in the tour, after being cruised into the quarterfinals of the 2012 Australian Open. As the japans has stunned the world No.6, Jo Wilfred Tsonga to advance into the final-8 of the tournament.

Most irritated player in 2012 Australian Open

The angriest moment at Melbourne came when the former world No.8, Marcos Baghdatis broke 4 racquets on the trot while playing Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka. Though he went on to win that set, he lost the match and also lost respect in the eyes of a lot of people. Baghdatis is a former finalist at the Australian Open. With every racquet Baghdatis broke, the crowd cheered him on.

Disappointing Moment Movement at Australian Open

One of the most disappointing movements was not even a single American man reached the Round of 16 at the Australian Open since 1973, and the worst part of the above fact being NO American played the Australian Open in 1973! The big guns failed to fire as John Isner, Mardy Fish and Andy Roddick, all bowed out in the earlier stages of the first Grand Slam of the year.
Most controversial match of 2012 Australian Open

Another low of the tournament took place in the most controversial match by far- the Tomas Berdych Vs Nicolas Almagro match. Almagro smacked a ball on Berdych face, who failed to return the ball at the net. However, the Czech won the match with 4-6, 7-6, 7-6, 7-6 but he did not give a shake hands to his opponent, Almagro. The crowd was really anti this gesture of Thomas Berdych.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion John McEnroe feels World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is not in same level of skills comparing to very talented Rafael Nadal, who has won 10 major titles so far in his career. Nadal is one of the toughest fighters on the court, who can bounce back into the game at any moment says former tennis legend McEnroe.

Nadal has crossed the line once again and failed to win the Australian Open championship says 52-year-old McEnroe, who will always a prejudiced man, as it would be on judges on the court or game of tennis. Nadal should more focus on his body to recover from all injuries, where he is feeling pain in his shoulder or knee.

McEnroe said Nadal is one of the greatest players of all time in tennis history, where he also helped his nation to win Davis Cup titles finals in 2004, 2008, 2009 and 2011 and gold medal in 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, beating Fernando Gonzalez of Chile in three sets with a 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 score line. Nadal, who won the most success on clay court winning with six French Open crowns at Roland Garros in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011.

Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, after playing six hours of grueling tennis entertainment in houseful of crowd at the Rod Laver, Melbourne. The seeded players have been complete exhausted at the title ceremony of the 2012 Australian Open.

In was indeed the longest and one of the greatest Grand Slam singles final in the history of tennis, as Novak Djokovic outlasted Rafael Nadal over 5 hours, 53 minutes to win a third Australian Open title.

Players have walked on court at 7:30 p.m on Sunday and it was 1:37 a.m. on Monday by the time Djokovic completed a scarcely believable 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7 (5), 7-5 Victory.

After that, it was about the title ceremony, as both the players, Djokovic and Nadal could not able to stand on ground after running 12-km on the court battling against each other in an Epic finals. While the tournament officials were giving a speech one after the other, the Australian Open finalist were struggling to stand on the court and later by God’s grace they were finally given Chairs to set.

Here is the video’s with full of fun and entertainment for the crowd.
