Eugenie Bouchard jumped the gun.
With the Atlanta Falcons up 21-0 versus the New England Patriots during the first half of the Super Bowl, the Canadian tennis star assumed the game was over.
One awfully optimistic tweeter made the following proposal:
Since the chances of that happening were slim to none, Bouchard agreed.
As the Patriots mounted a comeback, the 22-year-old admitted to growing nervous.
To Bouchard’s horror, New England went on to score 31 straight points en route to a 34-28 victory in overtime. A woman of her word, she hit up the person whom she owes a date.
On the bright side, she did learn from this fiasco.
