Davis Cup World Cup – World Group has completed the first round on Monday and last eight teams were settled in quarters. Here is the preview of the quarter finalist teams.

Preview – France Vs. Great Britain

France is the finalist in 2014 and facing Great Britain for the 21st time in the history of the Davis Cup. However, this the first time France is facing Britain since 1992. In past 15 seasons, 14 times France has appeared in quarter finals. Since 2001, France is awaiting to lift the Davis Cup and they have missed the chance in 2014.

France clinched the victory against Germany over the weekend and they were runners-up last year. The current France is with a team made up of world number 14 Giles Simon, world number 19 Gael Monfils and experienced doubles players Julien Benneteau and Nicolas Mahut. However, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, may available by the time quarter finals commence in July. The former Wimbledon semi-finalist, is currently injured but chances are high to join the league soon.

Since 1936, Great Britain has not won the hearts of the spectators. Britain has ended as runner–up in 1978 Davis Cup and since then it haven’t shown the pace on the field. It was in the top league for a second successive year since gaining promotion to the World Group in 2013.

Murray had beaten John Isner on Sunday and sealed the victory over United States. However, Great Britain’s next move will be critical and tough to face the team like France. In order to advance to the Semi-finals, Great Britain has to beat the players like Giles Simon (14), Gael Monfils (19), Julien Benneteau (Doubles 7), and Nicolas Mahut (Doubles 18).

Here is the Ranking comparison of both the teams.
