Six-time Grand slam champion Novak Djokovic hopes to surpass his best rival King of clay Rafael Nadal in the ATP Rankings in this season, but he needs to play tennis to reach top position in the rankings points.
Novak Djokovic has been standing at second place ahead of Rafael Nadal at top place in the ATP Rankings, where both the players are have most of the chances to lead men’s singles in 2014 season. Djokovic, who had made early exit from the Australian Open quarter finals to world No. 3 in thrilling five set match with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-2, 3-6, 9-7 at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.
26-year-old Novak Djokovic has lost top place in the ATP Rankings after losing 2013 US Open final to Rafael Nadal in New York, where Serbian needs to play high level tennis regain No. 1 this year. Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal has been passing through great form from last year, as he bagged couple of major titles at French Open and US Open. Spaniard hopes to continue similar form in 2014 season.
Djokovic was schedule to play next ATP tournament at the Dubai Tennis Championships, which will kick off this month in Dubai hard courts. Nole will join along with former world No. 1 Roger Federer in Dubai and both the players will lead men’s singles.
