Two-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray will take on Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the Mubadala World Tennis Championship first round on Thursday 26th December, being played here on hard courts at the Abu Dhabi International Tennis Complex at the Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi.
26-year-old Andy Murray is going to return back to court for the first time here in Mubadala Tennis Championship on Thursday evening, since losing US Open quarter final to Swiss second ranked Stanislas Wawrinka in three sets with a 4-6, 3-6, 2-6. The Scot, who had back surgery couple of months ago, he is looking very confident to return back to court. Murray is eyeing to lift the Mubadala World Tennis Championship title for third time in his career, as he won previous title in 2009.
World No. 10 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who had played his last ATP Tournament at the BNP Paribas Masters and fall in his opening round to Japanese Kei Nishikori in three sets. Frenchman will have to face difficult challenge against Murray in the Mubadala World Tennis Championship opening round.
Both the players are meeting for the 11th time in their career, where Andy Murray is leading with a 8-2 win loss head-to-head record agianst Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. The pair last meet at the 2013 Queens Club semi final and Murray won the match in three sets with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 score line. As per the predications, Murray is looking hot favorite to clinch victory against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in three sets and advances into the Mubadala World Tennis Championship second round.
