Rafael Nadal is eyeing to clinch the Australian Open championships for the second time in his career, where he is looking confident to lift the 14th major title to tie along with former World No. 1 Pete Sampras 14-slams in Open Era.
13-time singles Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal will have to face tough battle against his rival defending champion and world No. 2 Novak Djokovic for the Australian Open crown, where both the players are looking hot favorites lift the title at Rod Laver Arena. Nadal, who had played fabulous tennis this season by winning couple of major titles at French Open and US open, he also grabbed No. 1 place in the ATP Rankings.
Rafael Nadal, the 27-year-old Spanish star is just one slam away to tie with former American tennis legend Pete Sampras 14-slams and he is having most of the chances to surpass the record in 2014 season. Spaniard is aiming to clinch more than 2 Grand Slams next year, which will take him much closer to former World No. 1 Roger Federer’s 17-slams.
Rafael Nadal is likely to be seeded at No. 1 followed by four-time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic at No. 2 respectively and it could be a tough battleship between two champions at Rod Laver Arena. Australian Open tournament will begin from 13 to 26 January 2014 being played here on outdoor hard courts at Melbourne Park in Melbourne.
