Novak Djokovic believes that he can return back to top place in the ATP Rankings, if he clinches season opening Grand Slam at the Australian Open for the fourth consecutive time.
Six-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic is having most of the chances to return back to top place again to lead men’s singles, but he needs to fight hard against world No. 1 Rafael Nadal in the ATP Rankings. Nadal holds No. 1 place with 13030 points, while Djokovic standing at No. 2 place with 12260 points in the ATP Rankings. Serbian is just 770 points to beat Nadal in the rankings and he is looking very aggressive to regain to lead men’s singles once again.
Novak Djokovic is considered as hot favorite to clinch Australian Open crown for the fifth time in his tennis career and he is having impressive record at the Melbourne Park from past years. Djokovic has won previous Australian Open titles in 2008 and 2011 to 2013, where he is very excited to return back to Melbourne Park next month.
Serbian is likely to return back to training session along with his team on hard courts to prepare well for the upcoming season. Djokovic had not announced his 2014 ATP Tour schedule so far and he is expecting to open season at the Hopman Cup, before heading to the season’s opening Grand Slam tournament.
