Four-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova has announced that she is going to skip from the upcoming WTA Tournaments at the Pan Pacific Open and China Open, where she is struggling with injury.
26-year-old Maria Sharapova is aiming to play in the year endings WTA Championships Finals in Istanbul, schedule to start from 22nd October. Sharapova has been struggling with shoulder injury from past couple of months, where she has played last WTA Tournament at the Cincinnati Masters before losing to Sloane Stephens in straight sets. She needs to work hard to regain full fitness to get back to court soon and hopes to take part in training session soon.
Former World No. 1 Maria Sharapova might lose her No. 3 place in the WTA Rankings by end of the 2013 season, where Poland star Agnieszka Radwanska and Chinese top seed Li Na are going to fight hard for No. 3 place. Sharapova might slide down couple of places to No. 5 place at year ending WTA Rankings.
