Novak Djokovic aiming to clinch 2nd US Open

Six-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic is eyeing to clinch the second US Open championship next month, where he is the only player shows consistence performance at the US Open by reaching final three consecutive times from 2010 to 2012.

26-year-old Novak Djokovic, who has lost 2012 US Open final to his rival two-time major title winner Andy Murray in thrilling five sets with a 7–6(12–10), 7–5, 2–6, 3–6, 6–2. It was considered as the record longest US Open final for 4 hours and 54 minutes at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York. Murray has won his first major at the US Open 2012 and become the only player after Fred Perry.

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has been playing good tennis from the beginning of the season and also considered as one of the finest players on hard courts. Serbian star has lost 2010 US Open final to Rafael Nadal in four sets with a 6–4, 5–7, 6–4, 6–2, while come back to remarkable form to clinch the 2011 championship. Djokovic is likely to show similar performence this year and hopes to bag second US Open title.

Djokovic has reached US Open second round and will take on Benjamin Becker on Friday 30th August, where he has outlasted opening round oppanent Richard Berankis in successive sets with a 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 score line.
