14-time singles Grand Slam champion Pete Sampras insists that World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is going to hold No. 1 spot in ATP Rankings for more years and it’s going to be tough for any player to grab that top place.
25-year-old Novak Djokovic is going to play high level tennis in the upcoming season and might be challenge his No. 1 record to end for six years in a row says American tennis great Pete Sampras. He added Serbian is going to end the 2013 as No. 1 in the ATP Rankings for third consecutive time and it’s difficult for any player to stop him at the moment. Sampras has hold No. 1 spot to end the seasons from 1993 to 1998, which is the best for any men’s singles players to set the record consecutively.
Former World No. 1 Pete Sampras was impressed by Novak Djokovic performance in the Monte Carlo Masters last week, where he has overcome against his rival World No. 5 Rafael Nadal in consecutive sets with a 6-2, 7-6 score line. He added Djokovic is having most of the chances to clinch the upcoming Grand Slam French Open to complete career slam at Roland Garros.
