17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer has committed to play in the home indoors tournament, which will take place in October on outdoor clay courts.
31-year-old Roger Federer insists that he will compete in the 2013 Basel Indoors tournament, as he was planned to skips from the tournament earlier. He added it will be crucial tournament for him in front of home fans and hopes to show great performance to clinch the title for six time in his career. Federer, who has won the Basel Open for five times so far in his career from 2006 to 2008, 2010 and 2011.
Swiss Legend has lost 2012 Basel Open final to Juan Martin Del Potro in three sets with a 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 score line, as he needs to come back to top form to lift the title. Federer has begun training session on clay courts in Italy, before heading into the Madrid Masters and Rome Masters, which will kick off from next month.
Federer said he will play Basel Indoors without any kind of deal or agreement, which makes his loves towards the tournament. He is very excited to take part in the home tournament.
