Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer were out of the world top rankings for the first time in last 9 years. Neither Nadal nor Federer were ranked out of top 2 rankings. Novak Djokovic, the Serbian player is still ranked as World No.1 and the British No.1 Andy Murray occupied World No.2 position by pushing Roger Federer to No.3. Novak Djokovic, World No. 1 player is on a great form in recent times and became a tough competitor in all courts.

With the recent ATP rankings, Rafael Nadal is at no.5 and is expected to regain top rank in upcoming clay court season. Rafael Nadal is playing in Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters and Barcelona Open in April and other tournaments later including Wimbledon.

The top seeded, Roger Federer is spending time with his family and not played in recent tournaments also getting ready for the clay surface. But he is not playing only in Mutua Madrid Open and Roland Garros in May leaving the fight between Rafael Nadal, Djokovic and Murray.

Roger Federer, will often fail to perform on clay surface but great on grass courts especially when it is Wimbledon.

Rafael Nadal is the favorite of the upcoming clay court season and expected the no.1 rank soon. But Federer will be in race with Wimbledon only.
