Maria Sharapova reached Miami Sony Open final by beating Jelena Jankovic on Thursday, The match is a one side for Sharapova where she comfortably beat Jankovic with 6-2, 6-1 score. On the other hand, Serena Williams won against the defending champion Agnieszka Radwanska and dominated whole match amazingly. Serena beat Agnieszka Radwanska with 6-0, 6-3 where she send a warning to another finalist Sharapova that winning in final is not an easy job for her.
Maria Sharapova lost to four different opponents in previous seasons and stood as runner-up for 4 times. This time, Sharapova practiced a lot for Sony Open to win the trophy. But the final became more interesting now with the entry of World No. 1, Serena Williams in the final. Sharapova had a poor record against Serena 2-11 where Serena dominated with her power play most of the times.
Serena Williams had struggled in her previous two matches but played very well in the Semis against Radwanska, using her super power. They played for 37 minutes and 55 points before Radwanska won a game, prompting a big roar from the crowd.
But Serena Williams came back in the swing and played with great determination to enter in to the finals. Serena Williams broke the tournament record for victories by a woman. She’s 60-7; Steffi Graf went 59-6.
