World No. 9 Samantha Stosur will battle against Ekaterina Makarova of Russia in the 2013 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships second round on Tuesday 19th February at 15:05 GMT, being played here on outdoor hard courts at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre in Dubai.
28-year-old Stosur has been playing best tennis from beginning of the 2013 season and lost Qatar Ladies Open quarter final to Russian beauty Maria Sharapova in consecutive sets with a 6-2, 6-4 score line. Stosur is one of the top prospects to clinch the Dubai Duty crown this week.
Ekaterina Makarova, who holds World No. 20 in the WTA Rankings, she has lost Australian Open quarter finals to Maria Sharapova earlier this month in straight sets.
Both the players are meeting for the fourth time in their tennis career, where Samantha leads with a 2-1 win loss head-to-head record against Makarova. The pair last meet at the 2012 Cincinnati Masters fourth round and Australian star win the match in two sets with a 6-1, 6-3 scores line. As per the predictions, Stosur is having little edge to win the match and enter into the 2013 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships third round.
