Four-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova hopes to return back to No. 1 spot in the WTA Rakings next season, as she is looking forward to lift the season’s opening major Australian Open in January.
25-year-od Sharapova, who had played good tennis from the beginning of the season, as she also finished career slam at the French Open in Roland Garros. Russian beauty also climbed to No. 1, but its unfortunate slide down after Wimbledon Championships in July. Sharapova is aiming to show best performance to come back to No. 1 in the WTA Rankings, after winning Australian Open in January.
Sharapova needs to work hard to lift the Australian Open, as she will face tough challenges against her rivals 15-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams and World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka. Sharapova is having most of the chances to achieve No. 1 if she wins Australian Open crown, schedule to kick off from 14th January at Melbourne Park on outdoor hard courts.
