World No. 4 David Ferrer and Frenchman Richard Gasquet will fight in the 2012 US Open Championship fourth round on Tuesday 4th September at 16:05 GMT, being played here on outdoor grass courts at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Park, of Queens.
Spanish second seed David Ferrer has conquered former World No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt in four sets with a 7-6, 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 to reach US Open fourth round. Ferrer is having best record against Gasquet and he can come up in the fourth round on Tuesday 4th September. Ferrer is expecting to meet World No. 2 Novak Djokovic in the US Open semi finals this week at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Richard Gasquet, who holds World No. 14 in the ATP Rankings, he has been improving his level of tennis this year. Frenchman has defeated Steve Johnson of United States in third round with a 7-6, 6-2, 6-3 score line.
Both the players are meeting for the ninth time in their career, where Ferrer leads with a 7-1 win loss head-to-head record against Frenchman Gasquet. The pair last meet at the 2012 Rome Masters quarter final and Ferrer clinches victory in two sets with a 7-6, 6-3 scores line. As per the predictions, Ferrer is considered to be hot favorite to win the match in four sets and progress in the 2012 US Open quarter finals round, being played here on outdoor hard courts at Arhur Ashe Stadium in New York.
