10-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal wishes to wear his national flag in the parade of the 2012 Olympics in London, schedule to begin on 27th July.
World No. 2 Nadal wants to become the champion for Spain in 2012 London Olympics, where the Spanish CEO will pick the athlete, who is having the best record in recent Olympic Games. Nadal has clinched gold medal in singles beating Fernando Gonzalez of Chile in three sets with a 6–3, 7–6(7–2), 6–3 in 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
The former World No. 1 Nadal is having the most of the possibilities to wear Spanish national flag in the parade of the 2012 Olympics, because he had the best record in Olympic Games, since 2004. Judoka Isabel Fernandez and canoeist David Cal was honour to carry the national flag at the Olympic Games in Athens and Beijing. Sources states David Cal would be the leading athlete to wear the flag in London Olympics, after winning two silver medals in 2008 Beijing.
The Flagship will be announced on 25th July, after selecting by the Board of Olympic Federations in London. Spanish Olympic Committee CEO is going to announce the name of the candidate in June, who will carry on the Spanish flag in London Olympics’.
