Roger Federer, 16-time Grand Slam champion is going to play an exhibition match against former World No. 1 Andy Roddick, schedule to kick off on next month at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The former World No. 1 Roger Federer will travel to New York on next month to participate in the 2012 BNP Paribas Open tournament at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells and also take part in the exhibition match against 2003 US Open champion Andy Roddick. The exhibition match will held on 5th March at Madison Square Garden. Swiss Maestro has been seeded third followed by five-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic and king of clay Rafael Nadal as No. 1 and No. 2 seeds respectively.
Federer said he is likely to meet with New York Knicks star point guard Jeremy Lin next month, where NBA star can come to watch the exhibition, which it could be great for tennis fans. He added Jeremy Lin is one of the amazing players in NBA and he had an ability to help his team Knicks to come through the way.
World No. 3 Roger Federer feels great to play exhibition match in the Madison Square Garden, where he has played last match here in 2008 against American tennis legend Pete Sampras, who is the leading tennis player to spend 286 weeks at No. 1 in the ATP Rankings.
