Roger Federer, the former World No. 1 has clinched 71st ATP title at the 2012 ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament title in Rotterdam on Sunday 19th February.
The 16-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer has return back to top form at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament, where he clinched first ATP title of the season here in Rotterdam. Swiss Maestro has overwhelmed 2009 US Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro in straight sets with a 6-1, 6-4 score line in the final. Federer, who has ended-up the 2011 season with an amazing form with winning three consecutive titles at Basel Open, Paris Masters and ATP World Tour Finals.
30-year-old Federer said it was a tough last weekend, after losing Davis Cup matches by United States with a 5-0 at Forum Fribourg in Fribourg. Swiss star said he had a great start in Rotterdam Open, before heading into the 2012 Dubai Tennis Championships, an ATP 500 Series event on the 2012 ATP World Tour at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre in Dubai.
Federer, who has been seeded at No. 2 and World No. 1 Novak Djokovic as top seed in the 2012 Dubai Tennis Championships, schedule to begin from February 27th to March 3rd. World No. 9 Juan Martin Del Potro had played good tennis and having the ability to come back into top 5 positions in the ATP Rankings says Federer.
