World No. 7 Tomas Berdych will meet Italian Andreas Seppi in the 2012 ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament quarter finals, schedule to start on Friday 17th February at 11:35 GMT
Czech Republic top seed Tomas Berdych has reached the Rotterdam Open championship quarter finals, after Cyprus star Marcos Baghdatis retire from the tournament in the pre-quarter finals with injury. Berdych has been playing good tennis in 2012 season and aiming to win the third ATP title here in Rotterdam Open. Second seed Berdych has already won the titles at Hopman Cup and Open Sud de France. Berdych is likely to meet 16-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer in the Rotterdam finals this weekend, being played here at the Ahoy Rotterdam indoor sporting arena.
27-year-old Andreas Seppi has conquered German star Philipp Kohlschreiber in the second round with a 6-4, 6-2, while beaten Rik Devoest of Russia in three sets with a 6-1, 6-7, 2-6 in the first round. Seppi also suffered defeat in the Australian Open first round against Frenchman Richard Gasquet in four sets.
Both the players are meeting for the fifth time in career, while Berdych and Seppi are having 2-2 win loss head-to-head record. The pair last meet at 2008 Beijing ATP tournament in China, as Berdych won the match in two sets with a 6-3, 7-6. As per the predictions, 2010 Wimbledon finalist Berdych is considered to be big favorite to win the quarter and enter into ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament semi finals.
