German tennis champion Julia Goerges will clash against Shahar Peer of Israel in first round in the 2012 Paris WTA Premier tournament on Tuesday 7th February at 15:00 GMT.
Julia Goerges, who holds World No. 21 in the WTA Rankings, she will face tough in the opening round against Shahar Peer. German star has showed best performance in the Australian Open 2012 tournament, where she has lost fourth round to Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland in straight sets with a 6-1, 6-1.
24-year-old Shahar Peer has been playing first tournament, after losing Australian Open second round to Sabine Lisicki of Germany in consecutive sets with a 6-1, 6-2. Israel star has played great tennis in Hobart International, before falling in semi finals to Yamina Wickmayer in two sets.
Both the players are meeting for the second time in their career, as Julia Goerges leads with a 1-0 head-to-head series against Shahar Peer. The pair last meet at 2011 Charleston WTA Premier Tournament and Goerges won the match in two sets with a 6-2, 6-3. As per the predictions, Julia Goerges can win the second round match in three sets and enter into 2012 Paris WTA Premier tournament.
The 2011 French Open champion Li Na will take on Tsvetana Pironkova in the opening round on Tuesday schedule to begin at 12:05 GMT.
