The Austrian tennis champion Jurgen Melzer will battle against Michael Berrer of Germany in the quarterfinals at 2012 PBZ Zagreb Open tournament at 16:50 GMT on Friday 3rd February, being played on indoor hard courts.
The World No. 41 Jurgen Melzer has shocked Italian Andreas Seppi in the second round with a 6-2, 6-3, while overwhelmed Philipp Petzschner in the opening round with a 6-1, 6-3. Melzer said he needs to improve level of tennis, before Davis Cup matches and hopes to show best performance at PBZ Zagreb Open. He added he is very happy with his current form and it was a good decision to come here to play the PBZ Zagreb Open tournament.
The 31-year-old Michael Berrer has reached PBZ Zagreb Open quarterfinals after defeating Ivan Ljubicic of Croatia in the second round with a 6-4, 6-4 and conquer Marco Chiudinelli in the first round with a 7-6, 6-1. German star has playing first ATP tournament here in France, since his last event at 2011 St. Petersburg Open in October.
Jurgen Melzer and Michael Berrer are clashing for the second time in their career, where Austria star leads with a 1-0 head-to-head record. The pair last meet at long back 2001 Freudenstadt open tournament, as Melzer won the match in three sets with a 6-2, 1-6, 6-4. As per the predictions, Jurgen Melzer is looking huge favorite to win the quarterfinals at 2012 PBZ Zagreb Open tournament.
