The World No. 21 Florian Mayer will take on Frenchman Nicolas Mahut in the second round at 2012 Montpellier Open tournament, which will begin at 13:05 GMT on Thursday 2nd February, being played on indoor hard courts in France.
The sixth seed Florian Mayer has reached the second round of the Montpellier Open tournament, after beating Gilles Muller in straight sets with a 7-6, 6-3 score line in the first round. German star Mayer has begin the 2012 season at Brisbane International tournament, where he has withdrawn from the opening round match against Denis Istomin with injury. Mayer also skips from the Australian Open and hopes to show best performance at Montpellier Open this week.
The World No. 78 Nicolas Mahut has overcome against Albert Ramos-Vinolas of Spain in two sets with a 6-3, 6-2 in the first round, where he is looking forward to win the first ATP title being played here in France. Mahut also appeared in the Australian Open third round, before falling to World No. 1 Novak Djokovic in three sets.
Both the players are meeting for the third time in career, where Florian Mayer and Nicolas Mahut leads with a 1-1 win loss head-to-head record. The pair last meet at 2008 Miami tournament, as Mahut won the match in tough two sets. The predictions favor Florian Mayer is having little edge to win the second round and make move to Montpellier Open third round on Thursday.
