Argentina top seed, Juan Martin Del Potro has confirmed he will return to Estadio Nacional this year to retain his title at 2012 Estoril Open.
World No.10, Del Potro will be defending champion in the 23rd edition of Estoril Open, which is scheduled to be held from 28 April to 6 May 2012. Earlier, in 2011, Potro has thrashed out the Spain’s, Fernando Verdasco to clinch the clay court title.
The No.10 player while speaking with the sources has said that, he is delighted to have the chance of defending the title at the Estoril Open, which had some good memories in his career and added about his memories stating that, the fact that it was in Portugal, where he fully recovered my confidence after the wrist injury.
Del Potro, who has been a quarterfinalist in the Australian Open being defeated against the world No.3, Roger Federer in straight sets has once again reached the top-10 of the ATP world Rankings.
Tournament Director Joao Lagos said, It is always a true contentment to welcome back a former Estoril Open champion, even more when he comes with the wish of defending his title, as it is the case with Juan Martin del Potro is the first top player we are proud to pronounce in the same after he returned to world’s Top 10.
