The new World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka believes she can win more Grand Slam championships in 2012 season and hopes to continue similar form in further WTA tournaments.
The 22-year-old Victoria Azarenka, who has clinched 2012 Australian Open champion ship last week, after thrashing former World No.1 Maria Sharapova in straight sets with a 6-2, 6-0 to win first major crown in her career at Rod Laver Arena. Belarus champion wants to join tennis greats Serena Williams of United States, former World No. 1 Justine Henin and four-time major title holder Kim Clijsters.
The 2012 Australian Open champion Azarenka believes women’s singles game has never been tough along with Chinese Li Na, World No. 2 Petra Kvitova and Australian star Samantha Stosur, who have won first major title in 2011 season. Azarenka said she had played great season on clay and grass court in 2011 season, where she also had best results on hard court.
Azarenka said she also working hard on her fitness of exploring her body, routines, diet and training, which helps her 100 percent for further WTA tournaments. She is very excited to become No. 1 in the WTA Rankings, after winning Australian Open crown. Azarenka is going to play next tournament at Fed Cup, which will begin from 31st January in Israel.
