Rafael Nadal, the 10-time Grand Slam champion insist, he had played toughest match of his tennis career in the Australian Open championship final against World No. 1 Novak Djokovic on Sunday night at Rod Laver Arena.
The World No. 2 Rafael Nadal, who has lost Australian Open final to Championship final Novak Djokovic in thrilling five sets with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 7-5, where Serbian has taken five hours and 53 minutes to wrap-up the match. Spaniard said he had played greatest Grand Slam final on Sunday, but it’s unfortunate to lose the match. He had enjoyed being part of the Australian Open and hopes to win the championship next year said Nadal.
The former World No. 1 Nadal feels a lot of things better to challenge against best players of the world, where having a tough matches in a championship final is fantastic, than winning or losing. Australian Open 2012 championship final will be very special than 2008 Wimbledon final said Nadal. He added it is one of the longest championships final, which he had played in his tennis career so far.
The 25-year-old Nadal is going to take break in February, where he doesn’t want to participate in any tournaments at the moment. Spaniard said he wants to spend some time along with his family and friends for few days, after niggling from injuries.
