Defending champion and world No.11, Kim Clijsters has made a brilliant come back to the season opening grand slam event by reaching the semifinals of the 2012 Australian Open.
However, the Belgium, Clijsters has been knocked out in a thrilling three set encounter against Belarus world No.3, Victoria Azarenka with a score line of 6-4 1-6 6-3 to cruise into the finals of the 2012 Australian Open.
Clijsters while speaking to the reporters, after losing the match has said that, she is pleased with her performance on the return to the tennis circuit after a very long injury layoff.
Clijsters added that, she is really happy and proud to fight tough few tough matches and admitted that, she could have been home two-days earlier, but, showing 200% in each and every match, since last tow weeks has saved.
Belgium speaking about her futures plans has said that, that’s definitely been one of the frustrations that I think I’ve had over these last couple of years, or even since I’ve come back, is that I haven’t really been able to give it a good shot at the French Open. It is a challenge. It’s one of the goals that I have this season.
Clijsters, after losing the match has rallied towards the exit door and everyone at the Rod Laver Arena knew that it would be her last Australian Open campaign and said goodbye to her with a big prolonged round of applause.
