Roger Federer, the 16-time Grand Slam champion has praised 2009 US Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro, who has lost 2012 Australian Open quarter final on Tuesday at Rod Laver Arena.
The former World No. 1 Roger Federer has reached the Australian Open semi final on Tuesday, after winning the quarter final against Juan Martin Del Potro in three consecutive sets with a 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 score line. Swiss Maestro said Del Potro is having the ability to climb to top position in the ATP Rankings, where also reached 11th position at the moment. Federer has clinched 1000th ATP Tour match and also won 31st successive Grand Slam tournament quarterfinals at Melbourne Park. Del Potro is one of the two players, who had defeated in Grand Slam finals.
The World No. 3 Roger Federer said it’s very interesting to see Del Potro in 2012 season, where he will get more chances to prove himself. Federer will take on his best rival 10-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal in the Australian Open semi final on Thursday 26th January at Rod Laver Arena. Both the players are meeting for the 29th time in career, where Nadal leads with a 19-9 win loss head-to-head record against Federer so far.
Roger Federer is aiming to win the fifth Australian Open championship, after winning previous crowns in 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2010.
