2011 Australian Open finalist, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray have cruised into the semifinal of the season opening grand slam event, which was held on Wednesday, January 26, 2011.
Novak Djokovic in his quarterfinal clash has knocked out the world No.5, David Ferrer in three straight sets with a score line of 6-4 7-6 6-2 to advance into the semifinals of the 2012 Australian Open.
The Serbian world No.1, Djokovic has started off the match with a great note, as he took an early break beating Ferrer in 4th game to take a lead and complete the set with 6-4. In the second set, the Serbian showed his domination breaking Ferrer serve early to take a 1-0 lead the match. However, the second seeded Spaniard pulled back into the game right in the third game beating world No.1, Djokovic serve and leveling the match and finally took it the tie break, as Djokovic has cruised past Ferrer to take 2-0 lead.
The finals set was one man shown, as the defending champion, Djokovic has pulled an easy victory to cruise into the semifinals of the 2012 Australian Open.
World No.1, Djokovic will next face Andy Murray, who has beaten the Japanese raising start, Kei Nishikori in straight sets with a score line of 6-3 6-3 6-1.
