The 2010 Australian Open champion Kim Clijsters will battle against World No. 3 Victoria Azarenka in the semi finals at Australian Open, which will begin at 00:00 GMT on Thursday 26th January at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne Park.
The former World No. 1 Kim Clijsters has overcome against World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki in two sets with a 6-3, 7-6 in quarter finals on Tuesday. Clijsters is looking in great form, where she also reached Brisbane International semi finals, before falling to Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia in two sets. Belgium star will have to face tough challenge against Victoria Azarenka, who has been seed third at ongoing Australian Open.
The 22-year-old Victoria Azarenka has thrashed Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland in three sets with a 6-7, 6-0, 6-2 in quarter finals. Azarenka has been passing through outstaying form to begin the 2012 season, Belarus top seed has won the 2012 Apia International crown, beating Li Na in three sets with a 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 earlier this month in Adelaide.
Both the players are clashing for the seventh in tennis career, as Clijsters leading with 4-2 win loss head-to-head record series against Belarus champion. The pair last meets at Miami WTA Premier, where Azarenka won the match in two sets with a 6-3, 6-3. The predictions favor Kim Clijsters is having the little edge to win the semi final and make move to 2012 Australian Open final at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne Park on Friday.
