Former American world No.1, Venus Williams, who has been struggling form injuries and has been out of the season opening grand slam tournament has confirmed that, she will be competing in the 2012 BMW Malaysian Open tennis championship.
Williams has been out of tennis, since the fourth round of 2011 US Open, due to Sjogren’s syndrome and has returned back playing few exhibition matches in the end of the 2011 along with her sister and 13-times grand slam champion, Serena Williams.
Venus, earlier in end of December has reported that, she will be playing her season first tournament at 2012 Auckland Open, which was held from January 2-7, 2012. However, she has not recovered from her illness, which caused her to withdraw from Australian Open.
Venus Williams is suffering from Sjogren’s syndrome that is characterized by dryness in the mouth and eyes, as well as pain in the joints might skip the tournament at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian and Country Club in February.
Keld Kristiansen, chairman of the organisers Carbon Worldwide, has authenticated that Williams will be in Kuala Lumpur despite her withdrawal from the Australian Open and said that, she spoken to her manager and he has assured us that Venus will be coming and added that, it will be prefect place for the Seven-time Grand Slam winner Williams to start her season at Kuala Lumpur.
BMW Malaysian Open tennis championship is scheduled to be started from Feb 27-March 4, 2012.
