The 2011 Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova is going to battle 2012 Australian Open quarter final against Italian Sara Errani at 00:00 GMT on Monday 23rd January at Melbourne Park.
The 21-year-old Czech Republic top seed Petra Kvitova has defeated 2008 French Open champion Ana Ivanovic in the pre-quarter finals in two sets with a 6-2, 7-6 score line on Sunday. Kvitova has been playing best tennis from past season, where she also won her maiden Grand Slam at Wimbledon in All England Club in 2011. Czech Republic star is also considered one of the big favorite to lift 2012 Australian Open, after former World No. 1 Serena Williams thrashed out of the championship on Monday.
Sara Errani, who holds World No. 47 in the WTA Rankings, she will face tough battle against second seed Kvitova. Italian star needs to play aggressive to win the quarter final match and hopes to play high level tennis. She has conquered Jie Zheng of China in the fourth round in straight sets with a 6-2, 6-1 to reach Australian Open quarter finals for the first time in her career.
Petra Kvitova and Sara Errani have never played each other in career, where both the players are meeting for the first time at Australian Open tournament. The predictions favor Petra Kvitova is looking hot favorite to win the quarter final and advance into the Australian Open semi finals on Tuesday.
