American former No1 player, Serena Williams and Andy Roddick starts their preparation for the 2012 London Olympics, as they face the top seeded player in Mixed doubles event at Australian Open.
Serena and Roddick will be pairing to battle their first round encounter against the No.1 mixed doubled players in tournament, Mike Bryan and Kveta Peshke on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the 2012 Australian Open.
This will be first time in their career, as the long time friends, Serena and Roddick will be pairing-up for the first time in double event.
Serena has tweeted Andy, as he replied back stating that, ‘What side do you want to play? I was like, oh, yeah, we forgot to discuss that, Serena said with a laugh. I always play the forehand side. He didn’t care what side he plays, so it’s good. We’re looking forward to it. It’s going to be fun. Why not start out [playing] the best?
Serena also joked that, her forehand must be stronger than Roddick’s because she beat him once when they were kids and that she will let him serve first. I was thinking I should, but I’ll let him feel like, you know, macho man and let him start first.
Meanwhile, both the top seeded American players are still competing in their singles battle, as Serena already reached the third round with Roddick will be clashing against the former No.1, Hewitt in the second round of the 2012 Australian Open.
