The 10-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal insist he is going to do well in remaining matches at the 2012 Australian Open championship and hopes to clinch the title for second time in his career at Melbourne Park.
The World No. 2 Rafael Nadal has reached the third round of Australian Open tournament on Wednesday, after beating his opponent German Tommy Haas in three sets with a 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 score line in the second round. Spaniard also improved his level of performance in the Australian Open first round, where he has overwhelmed Alex Kuznetsov of United States with a 6-4, 6-1, and 6-1.
The former World No. 1 Nadal said he is looking better with his knee at the moment, after working hard along with his physical trainer on Tuesday at Rod Laver Arena at Melbourne Park. Nadal is going to play third round match against Lukas Lacko of Slovakia, who has defeated Donald Young of United States in the second round in four sets with a 6-3, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 score line. Nadal has won the Australian Open championship in 2009, after beating his best rival Roger Federer in tough five sets with a 7–5,3–6,7–6(7–3), 3–6, 6–2.
The 2011 French Open champion Li Na, four-time major title holder Kim Clijsters, World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki and German Julia Goerges have entered into the Australian Open third round on Thursday.
