John Isner and Alexandra Dolgopolov have shown some stunning encounter on day-3 of the 2012 Australian Open to advance into the third round of the season opening tournament.
American world No.16, John Isner, who has know for his longest match in history of tennis has shown another sensational match on Wednesday beating David Nalbandian in a thrilling five set encounter with a score line of 4-6 6-3 2-6 7-6 (7/5) 10-8 to complete the match in four-hour-and-41-minut.
The American tall player has edged a close fourth set in the tie-break and then called upon his huge reserves of energy to win 10-8 in the fifth, even after struggling by means of cramps in the latter stages of his match against Nalbandian.
Isner, after his victory against Nalbandian has stated that, he didn’t understand what’s going on the court, but stated that, he is lucky enough to clinch victory.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian, Alexandr Dolgopolov has sweated all through the court against the German world No.98, Tobias Kamke in a five set thriller with a score line of 4-6 6-1 6-1 3-6 8-6 to cruise into the third round of the 2012 Australian Open.
Dolgopolov has managed to get through in his opening two-rounds against easy opponents in five sets. However, if he continues the same in next few rounds, it would be difficult to see him at Melbourne.
