ATP New President, Brad Drewett on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 has finally decided to speak on rift between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer on busy tennis calendar and prize money issue.
Brad Drewett has been appointed as the new president of ATP in the end of December and started his role by looking into the players disputes, mainly over the lengthy tennis calendar and prize money issue.
ATP chairmen, Brad after having a meeting with players at the 2012 Australian Open has said that, we had a player meeting the other night, it is not habitually that players have get together in one room and start the strike. Certainly the players were very vocal about what was on their mind and he added that, there’s always some issues around and there was some or the other nuisance on definite points within the game. Nothing is ever perfect in any world, and certainly not in the tennis world.
Brad also admitted that, he heard the loud and clear about their issues and applied that, they are obviously a very, very important part of this organization.
Drewett while speaking about the player’s issues has said that, a lot of concerns, which were in the past, have been continued and they are not new to tennis and the discussion about the issues of scheduling and prize money were very clear from the players side.
Andy Roddick has become the latest seeded player to speak on the issue stating that, there was a strapping humor for change after the adoring pre-tournament meeting.
Drewett has concluded that, he thinks’ that, it will be great starting point of being chief dealing with these issues.
