The former World No. 1 Andy Roddick will clash against 2005 Australian Open finalist Lleyton Hewitt in the second round at Australian Open 2012 at 00:00 GMT on Wednesday 19th January, which will held on outdoor hard courts at Melbourne Park.
The World No. 15 Andy Roddick, who has thrashed Robin Haase of Netherlands in the opening round in straight sets with a 6-3, 6-4, 6-1 and will fight tough battle against former World No. 1 Hewitt. Roddick is the only American player, who is having the ability to win the 2012 Australian Open championship, after American top seed Mardy Fish crashed out of the tournament on Wednesday.
The 2002 Wimbledon champion Lleyton Hewitt has entered into the Australian Open second round, as he overwhelmed Cedrik-marcel Stebe of Germany in four sets with a 7-5,6-4,3-6,7-5 score line. Hewitt has begun the 2012 season at Apia International, where he lost first round to Viktor Troicki of Serbia in three sets.
The pair last meet at 2011 Memphis ATP tournament in February, as Roddick won the match in three sets with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 score line. Both the players are clashing for the 14th time, where American star leads with a 7-6 win loss head-to-head record against former Australian top seed. The predictions favor Roddick can win the match in four sets and move to Australian Open third round, being played here on outdoor hard courts at Melbourne Park.
