The former World No. 1 Andy Roddick will take on Kei Nishikori in the third round of the 2012 AAMI Classic tournament on Friday 13th January in Adelaide.
The World No. 16 Andy Roddick has overcome against World No. 7th ranked Tomas Berdych in three sets with a 4-6, 7-6 and 6-3 and lost opening round to Frenchman Gael Monfils in consecutive sets with a 7-6 and 7-6 score line. American star has played good tennis and looking forward to clinch the title, before heading into the 2012 Australian Open championship at Melbourne Park, schedule to begin from 16th January being played on outdoor hard courts in Melbourne.
The 22-year-old Kei Nishikori has played best tennis in the AAMI Classic opening round, where he has overwhelmed top seed Frenchman Jo-wilfried Tsonga in three sets with a 1-6, 4-6 and 6-1. Japan star will have to work hard to win the second round match against Andy Roddick. Nishikori also lost 2012 Brisbane International second round against Marcos Baghdatis in two sets with a 6-3 and 6-4.
Both the players are meeting for the second time in career, where Andy Roddick leads with a 1-0 win loss head-to-head record against Japanese top seed. The pair last meet at San Jose ATP tournament in 2008, as Roddick has defeated Nishikori in straight sets with a 6-2 and 6-4. The predictions favor Roddick is having the most the chances to win the AAMI Classic third round match on Friday in Adelaide.
