Li Na her second round encounter has defeated South African, Chanelle Scheepers in straight sets with a score line of 7-6 6-2 to advance into the quarterfinals of the 2012 Sydney Open.

Czech world No.25, Lucie Safarova has entered into the quarterfinals knocking out the former French Open champion, Svetlana Kuznetsova in straight sets with 6-1 2-0 , after Kuznetsova has been retired from the match, due to injury.

As per the prediction, Li Na will advance into the semifinals beating Safarova in the 2012 Sydney Open.
