"Petra Kvitova" World No.2, Petra Kvitova will be opening-up her 2012 camping at Sydney WTA tournament, when she takes on Alexandra Dulgheru in the opening round.

Czech No.2, Petra Kvitova will be battling in her second round encounter against Romania, Alexandra Dulgheru in the 2012 Apia International WTA tournament, which is scheduled to be held on Monday, January 09, 2012 at in Sydney, Australia.

The head to head between both the players have clashed in tow matches and leveled their record with 1-1 against each other. However, in their previous encounter at 2011 US Open, Alexandra Dulgheru has stunned the top seeded, Kvitova with a score line of 7-6(3) 6-3.

Czech number one Kvitova had an amazing 2011 season winning six titles, including the Wimbledon and WTA Championship titles and also been chosen as the best WTA player of the season.

In her last tournament in Hopman cup last, Kvitova along with Thomas Berdych have guided the Czech to clinch their 2nd Hopman cup titles by winning the singles battle. The top seeded player has thrashed out the world No.10, Marion Bartoli to take a lead in the finals of the Hopman.

Romania world No. 66, Alexandra Dulgheru having 2-WTA titles in her career has show her best tennis in order to clinch a victory against the top seeded player of the tournament, Kvitova. Earlier, Dulgheru in her opening round has knocked out Sofia Arvidsson with the score line of 6-1 6-1 in the 2012 Sydney Open.

As per the predictions, it will be a straight sets victory for the world No.2, Petra Kvitova.
