"Serena Williams and Venus Williams"American Former world No.1 sisters, Serena Williams and Venus Williams are in trouble ahead of the 2012 Australian Open, as Both the William’s sisters have sustained from injuries.

World No.12, Serena Williams, who was out of 2011 Australian Open, has made a great return to tennis winning back to back titles and reached the US Open grand slam finals at the end of 2011.

Serena started her new season with a superb performance in Brisbane Open. However, while she was serving for the match to reach the quarterfinals of the 2012 Brisbane Open, she twisted her ankle and crashed heavily to the court, when she was leading with 6-2, 5-3 against Serbia’s, Bojana Jovanovski.

The 13-times grand slam champion needed a treatment and later cruised into the quarterfinals of the Brisbane Open. But, the five times Australian Open champion has withdrawn from the tournament and raised doubts to fans, whether she will be coming to Melbourne to play the season opening grand slam.

Mean while, Venus Williams, who has been withdrawn from the season opening tournament at Auckland Classic, due to the auto-immune disease, Sjogren’s syndrome, which causes fatigue and joint pain, which ended her run after pulling out of the US Open before a second-round clash with Sabine Lisicki is also a doubtful competitor for the 2012 Australian Open.

With both the sisters out of the Australian Open competition last year, due to injuries have already confirmed that they will be playing in the 2012 Australian Open.

But, the question rises once again, as the both the Williams sisters are suffering from injuries. So, will they recover in one week, as the Australian Open is scheduled to be held started from January 16, 2012?

Stay tuned to get the complete info about the participation of the American former world No.1 players, Serena Williams and Venus Williams.
