World No.6, Samantha Stosur will be taking on the Czech player, Iveta Benesova in the second round of the 2012 Brisbane Open.
Australian world No.6, Samantha Stosur will be squaring off with the Czech No.54, Iveta Benesova in the second round of the 2012 WTA Brisbane Open on Wednesday, January 04, 2012 at 10:30 GMT, which is being held at Brisbane, Queensland.
The head to head to between both the players have clashed in the four matches in the past, as the top seeded Australian is leading the contest with 4-0 against the Czech, Benesova. However, the previous encounter between both the players was in the 2011 French Open, as Stosur has knocked out Benesova in straight sets with a score line of 6-2 6-3.
Samantha Stosur has shown her best performance last year by the big one at US Open grand slam title to end the 2011 season in top-10 for the second consecutive time and was runner up at Rome, Toronto and Osaka.
Stosur is confident of making home crowd happy by showing her best performance to clinch the title in Brisbane.
The top seeded player in the tournament, Stosur has thrashed out world No.62, Anastasiya Yakimova in straight sets with a score line of 6-2 6-3 to complete the match in 1Hr:10-Min on Patrick Rafter Arena.
World No. 54, Iveta Benesova in her opening round has defeated Lucie Safarova in three set thriller with a score line of 2-6 7-5 7-5 to set-up a clash in the second round with the top seeded player in Brisbane Open, Stosur.
As per the predictions, it will be straight sets victory for the top seeded Australian, Stosur.
