World No.6, Samantha Storus is ready for another battle against the 13-grand slam champion, Serena Williams in 2012.
Storus, who has defeated Serena Williams in the finals of the 2011 US Open to clinch her first grand slam title in her career, is ready to make a superb start at the home in Australia. World No.6, Stosur will start her new season at the Brisbane Open on Monday night January, 2nd, 2012 has always struggled to win matches in front of her home crowd in Australia.
Storus has reported on Friday that, she would make a perfect start in 2012 and make the home fans happy to draw on her US Open victory, I’ve never had a great summer here, so hopefully I can turn it all around in 2012, Playing in the final of the US Open, there’s probably no bigger pressure, or bigger moment, than what I may have to handle in the next month.
I came through that and know I was able to do it then, so why can’t I do it again?
I know I can draw on that from the past to help me handle whatever comes my way over the next few weeks.
World No.6, Samantha Stosur will be the top seeded player in the Brisbane Open and would be taking on American former No.1, Serena Williams in the semifinals next week.
Stosur believes that Serena Williams will be a strong contender in both Brisbane and Melbourne, as Serena has already 5-Australian Open titles in her career.
I know she’s going to be ready to go, she said. I don’t think Serena goes into any match without the motivation to win.
Every single time you play her it’s a really tough match. I got the better of her last time and we’ll see what happens next time.
