Former tennis champions, Pete Sampras and Carols Moya believes that the, 16-times grand slam champion, Roger Federer can return to No.1 in tennis rankings in the 2012 Season.
Both Sampras and Moya have never said that Federer era has been completed instead both of them have stated that, as long as Federer is best, he can reach the No.1 position in anytime in the calendar year.
14-times grand slam champion, Pete Sampras, who holds a record being at No.1 for 286 consecutive weeks, has said that, I think Roger is very motivated. His end to the season was incredible; he won 15 matches in a row.
I feel like Federer has the passion to win more Grand Slams and added that, I feel like when Roger is playing his best, he is still the best in the world. Not as assured as he used to be, but so aggressive as usual.
Sampras while speaking about Federer’s rivals Nadal, Djokovic and Murray has said that, “It will be an interesting year to see if Novak Djokovic can repeat what he did. Rafael Nadal will still be there for all the majors. Andy Murray has all the talent to challenge anyone.
Meanwhile, former French Open Champion, Carols Moya has said about Federer that, As long as Roger plays his best, he still has the chance to be No.1. Also, his goal is to win the Olympics singles which he has never touched before.
So let’s wait and see, whether the champion of tennis, Roger Federer will make a record of breaking Pete Sampras No.1 record of 286 consecutive weeks.
