World No.1, Novak Djokovic has defeated the France world No.16, Gael Monfils to enter into the semifinals of the 2011 Mubadala World Tennis Championship.
Serbian top seed, Novak Djokovic on Thursday made his debut in the three day exhibition match in Abu Dhabi against Gael Monfils. Djokovic has thrashed out the France player, Gael Monfils in a three set encounter with a score line of 6-2 4-6 6-2 to set-up a semifinals clash against the inform men, Roger Federer.
Djokovic has started off the match with a good run by taking an early lead braking Monfils serve in second game and finally clinched the first set with 6-2. However, the second set has been magnificent, as Monfils bounced back into match, while, Djokovic played some casual shots in the second-set to loss with 4-6.
The final was a thrilling at one stage, as both the contenders were playing some long rallies, but, it was the Serbian No.1, Djokovic to clinch the victory in three set with a score line of 6-2 4-6 6-2.
World No.1, Novak Djokovic will be clashing in the semifinals encounter on Friday against the 16-times grand slam champion, Roger Federer in the 2011 Mubadala World Tennis Championship.
