Second seeded Spaniard, David Ferrer has been shown his consistent performance in knocking out Jo Wilfred Tsonga to enter into the semifinals of the 2011 Mubadala World Tennis Championship.
World No.5, David Ferrer on Thursday, December, 29th, 2011 has thrashed out world No.6, Jo Wilfred Tsonga in a three exhibition match with a score line of 2-6 7-6 (4) 6-2 to enter into the semifinals of the Abu Dhabi event.
In a thrilling encounter against the Spain No.5, Ferrer has shown an amazing performance against Tsonga. Ferrer, who has lost his first set, after being beaten in the sixth game of the first set, has made a brilliant come back in the second set.
Both the player, Ferrer and Tsonga were looking strong in the second set by exchanging breaks and taking the set to tie-breaker. However, the Spaniard raised the level of his game in tie-break and earned the equalizer to win the set 7-6 (4) to level the sets.
In the final set, Spaniard showed his domination by breaking the serve of Tsonga in the second game and took the lead and later France; Tsonga played some superb shots in the very next game to level the scores. However, Ferrer earned the decisive break in the sixth game and then ended with a victory with 6-2 to reach the semifinals of the three day exhibition match in Abu Dhabi.
World No.5, David Ferrer will be taking on his fellow country men and top seeded Spaniard, Rafael Nadal in the semifinals of the 2011 Mubadala World Tennis Championship.
